Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Overview

One of the newest resorts to join the Walt Disney World area, Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort first opened its doors in August of 2014. Bringing a new level of luxury and first-class service to the Orlando area, Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort offers plush rooms, gorgeous grounds, elite services and spectacular views of Magic Kingdom and Epcot fireworks.

In a word, Four Seasons Resort Orlando is pure tranquility

We had the opportunity to stay at this Four Seasons Resort location on our recent trip to Orlando while celebrating our 10th anniversary and expanding our existing Walt Disney World Family Travel Guide. Our expectations were exceeded at every turn and we highly and wholeheartedly recommend this resort when traveling with your family to Walt Disney World Resort. If you're traveling with little ADHDers you'll find this resort accommodating, relaxing and thoughtful in every way. Continue reading to learn more about all we saw and experienced during our stay.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort at a Glance:
Special Note: It is important to note that while Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort is located within the Walt Disney World Resort property, it is still owned and operated by Four Seasons Resort. As a result. you can integrate certain Disney aspects with your Four Seasons Resort stay, however, magic bands are not used interchangeably with room keys (as with other Disney resorts) and cannot be used to pay for things at Four Seasons Resort. While it is just as easy to charge something to your room, we wanted to make sure our readers knew this ahead of time to avoid any confusion during future stays. We'll discuss Four Seasons Resort's Disney integration in depth below.

Planning Your Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Stay

Your Four Seasons Resort Orlando experience begins before even setting foot on the property (or in our case, before hopping on a plane). Once you book your stay, Four Seasons Resort provides you with a link to your private Four Seasons Resort planning website. Here you're able to arrange everything from transportation to special room requests; book golf lessons and more.

We found the website to be incredibly helpful in planning our Four Seasons Resort stay. It saved us from having to do any planning during our actual stay, which was fabulous. Here are some snapshots from our personalized site, which shows just how comprehensive pre-planning can be through Four Seasons Resort Orlando:

We found that it was a cinch to request things such as extra pillows for our room through this site. We did inquire about golf lessons for our older son, but after an initial email from the Director of Instruction we did not receive responses to our emails and did not schedule a lesson as we'd initially planned. I'm unsure if there was an issue with our emails going to SPAM when we emailed with our questions--this could have been the case--as communication with other departments seemed fine.

We had great luck speaking with the manager and assistant manager of Kids for All Seasons regarding our questions, which we initially sent through our personalized site as well.

Overall, the Four Seasons Resort personalized site was extremely helpful and simplified our planning process--which is always helpful when traveling as a family.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Greeting/Check-in

While you can arrange transportation to and from the resort, we were already in Orlando with a rental car when we began our stay at Four Seasons Resort. However, in the future we will certainly make use of their transportation options when arriving directly from the airport.

Driving up to the resort was quite exciting--don't forget to look for Ariel and her friends on your way! There was a checkpoint at the resort's main entrance that communicated our arrival with valet at the hotel's entrance so they anticipated our appearance and quickly took care of our luggage and car when we pulled up. There was no self-park option at Four Seasons Resort Orlando, but the price was quite reasonable at $26 per night for in-and-out service--far less than we've paid in cities such as New York and Boston.

This interactive screen was so fun for the boys!

Check-in was a quick and painless process. The lovely woman that assisted us was friendly and inviting--ironically also a New Englander like us! While the process was quick, we really appreciated the fact that the moment we approached the counter our boys were led to a comfortable waiting area with an interactive screen, which kept them busy the entire time. They were also given cute Four Seasons cinched backpacks and "passports" in which they could collect stamps at a number of resort spots and potentially earn a free gelato at Lickety Split. It's often the little details, such as these, that make or break experiences for families in our opinions.

We checked in early and had a chance to grab a coffee and explore the grounds prior to our room being ready. Our luggage was brought up to our suite for us once it was ready.

We were immediately taken with the beautiful aesthetic of the interior and breathtakingly groomed grounds. We had a lot of fun exploring prior to landing in our suite.

Down this corridor you could easily get to dining, shopping and the elevators.

There were so many fun details to explore inside and out. Our boys were very curious about these crowns every time we passed them.

Throughout the resort there were a number of places to sit and relax. This sitting area was located adjacent to 2 shops in the resort.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Grounds

As we mentioned above, the grounds at Four Seasons were absolutely breathtaking--well designed and perfectly picturesque. There was an endless number of areas meant for relaxation and we definitely took advantage of several. The grounds were lush and green with plenty of gently flowing waterways and fountains--so beautiful.

Everything was extremely peaceful and elegant. Grabbing some great shots was a snap!

You can actually see the cabanas at Oasis from here--the adults-only pool.

As we mentioned, there were a number of relaxing areas for lounging. This was one of our favorites.

This palm-lined walkway was perfection! We walked this way to get to Explorer Island, where we spent a great deal of time during our stay.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Suite

Four Seasons Resort Orlando offers a variety of room/suite layouts. We were fortunate enough to stay in a Park-View Suite. Our room consisted of a separate living room (with a queen pullout sofa), 1 bedroom (with a king bed), 2 bathrooms and a spacious balcony.

Suite Size & Layout
The suite was absolutely lovely. Between the four of us we've stayed in suites/rooms across the U.S. as well as internationally at some pretty fabulous resorts. We agreed this suite was one of the loveliest we'd stayed in to date. The size was absolutely perfect for a family of four in our opinions--enough room to give the kids a little space, which they thoroughly enjoyed, and to keep everyone from tripping over one another. There was also more than adequate storage space including a large closet in the bedroom, a smaller closet in the living room and cabinets/drawers in every room.

Water Pressure
Water pressure was amazing in both showers and the tub. It was also quick to get warm and stay warm, which is always nice!

Soundproof
Aside from occasionally hearing the heavy sliding glass door in an adjacent room's bathroom when we were in the bathroom, we found our room to be incredibly soundproof and we all slept beautifully because of it!

Concierge & Housekeeping
Concierge was incredibly helpful with all of our questions. Housekeeping was great in terms of straightening our suite and providing turndown service. Whenever we requested anything they were quick to bring it up. The only things they did not bring us were the fans we requested at night. My youngest and I both struggle to sleep without the sound and feel of moving air and we always request fans when we travel. I'm not sure if there was an issue with our request getting delivered or if it fell through because it was late, but it was the only little housekeeping hiccup we experienced during our time with Four Seasons.

four seasons resort orlando at walt disney world resort family travel guide
Upon arriving at our room this lovely chocolate-filled welcome was delivered. Such a delicious touch! Much appreciated by the boys and us. How cute are those gator lollipops and how decadent are those truffles? Yum!

This coffee bar was well stocked during our stay. One of the cabinets above held our mini fridge while the cabinets below could be used for storage.

A perfect cup of coffee was just what we needed while unpacking! I was thrilled to see they had both regular and decaf stocked.

As you can see, the bedroom was furnished with an additional comfy sitting area, a large flat screen TV and a second door onto the balcony.

This king bed was absolute heaven on earth! And these adorable robes and pirate swords and eye patches left for the boys were fantastic. I had to rush to take pics before they quickly snatched them up and stole away with their booty!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
The bedroom had its own closet (through the doorway) with a large master bath on the other side.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
To say that Four Seasons Resort is family-friendly is an understatement. They are a family's FANTASY! Between these and the gator lollipops delivered once we got to our suite our boys were smitten from the start.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
The closet in the bedroom was sizable with more than enough room for our luggage and clothes. I loved that there was an iron and ironing table readily available. After a week of traveling, one can get incredibly wrinkly and it's nice to be able to go out at night and feel put together.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
This was the other half of our closet. As requested through our personalized site, the extra pillows we asked for were here waiting for us.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
The master bath connected to the bedroom was very large and absolutely gorgeous. Here's a peek from the doorway.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
The master bath had a large double-sink with a decent amount of counter space and outlets. In fact, there was enough counter space that I was able to lay out all of my makeup/skincare bags plus my flat iron and still leave a bit of room for the Hubs.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
There was a nicely sized soaking tub in the master bath--water pressure was fantastic and it filled quickly. It's always nice when you get get in before it cools!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
We took full advantage of the tub as you can imagine. It was pure bliss!
I loved the little touches housekeeping left at turndown such as the flame-less candle next to the tub.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
At Four Seasons Resort Orlando no detail seemed to be forgotten. This lit, magnified makeup mirror was just what my poor nearsighted eyes needed!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
The shower was a really decent size and the water pressure was wonderful. We tend to shower really frequently, so it's always nice when water doesn't trickle out as you're trying to move on to your next adventure.
Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
Private water closet in the master bath--the thing no couple realizes how badly they need/want until they experience one. We are big fans of separate water closets in master baths, so we were thrilled to see that our bathroom had one.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
The second bathroom was located near the main doorway. For a family of four, having 2 bathrooms in your home away from home is fairly high on the list of luxury must-haves!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
The second bathroom had a full stand-up shower, which was great. It's always nice when you don't have to wait an to hop in the shower after going for a swim or getting ready for dinner.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
Our own little private oasis--we loved our balcony!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
Our balcony was large enough that we had multiple seating areas. It was the perfect spot to relax, eat while enjoying some fresh air and catch an amazing view of Disney fireworks! With our little guys we were actually really thankful to have a balcony with a solid wall rather than railing. You just never know when one is going to try to see what fits between the rungs!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
The view from our balcony was exceptional and the weather decided to play nice throughout our stay so we got to take full advantage of it.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
Does it get any better?

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
The balcony was beautiful during the day, but it was incredibly cozy and romantic at night! We chose to have turndown service while we were out to dinner and when we came back we were thrilled with how beautifully everything was set up.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
Our view at night from our balcony was just as fabulous as it was during the day. We did have a wonderful view of the fireworks at both Epcot and Magic Kingdom, which we've detailed below.
Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
It's the personal touches that set luxury resorts apart from other resorts in our opinions. We never tired of seeing this greeting on our TVs!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide
The lengths to which Four Seasons Resort went to ensure every bit of our stay was simple and stress-free was very impressive. It was so nice to be able to request and schedule different things from the tablet in our room.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Epcot & Magic Kingdom Fireworks

As we mentioned above, we had a park-view suite and were shocked to find that we could see not only the Magic Kingdom's epic firework show, but Epcot's as well! Concierge was happy to let us know when to expect fireworks so we were able to catch both shows.

The boys were ecstatic and even though we'd been to both parks that week, getting a private view of both fireworks shows without struggling to see over other people's heads (being short definitely has its disadvantages during Disney shows!) was the perfect way to end our stay at Disney.

Sneak Peek of Epcot Fireworks Show from Four Seasons Resort Park-View Suite

We don't want to give away the whole show, but here are some shots I snapped during the Epcot fireworks show from our balcony. Check out how beautiful the Epcot geosphere is at night!

If you've never seen the fireworks show at Magic Kingdom it is incredible! I was shocked by how well we could see the entire show from our balcony. The boys had an amazing time watching and I left with hundreds (literally) of fireworks photos. I've tried to narrow it down to some of our favorites, which was hard!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Shopping

Yes, I absolutely love almost all things about traveling, but I'd be lying if I didn't mention that shopping is pretty close to the top of my list of things that get me excited about going to new places. For my fellow shopping mamas (and dads) you'll be happy to know that Four Seasons Resort offers a couple cute little shops where you can grab things for yourself, goodies for people at home and of course fun things for the little ADHDers as well!

The two shops I checked out were on the 2nd floor near the lobby--Wardrobe and Fable. Fable was clearly geared more towards families and kids--offering clothing, accessories, Disney gear and some little essentials. Wardrobe offered some really pretty resort-worthy apparel and accessories. I got some great shots of the interior of Fable because I happened to catch them when no one else was in the shop, but I didn't catch Wardrobe while it was empty and we prefer not to affect other guests' stays. I did, however, snap a shot of the exterior so you can catch a peek of what they offer.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Dining

As we mentioned above, there are six fantastic dining options at Four Seasons Resort Orlando that offer a variety of themes/foods at varying price points. We weren't able to dine with all of them during our stay given our tight timeline, but we did eat at several. We also did in-room dining, which was absolutely fabulous.

We wanted to eat at Ravello for breakfast the day we checked out, but unfortunately there were no reservation times that worked with our schedule--next time hopefully! However, their menu looked fantastic and they had a really impressive gluten-free menu (yay!). They also offered character dining (currently breakfast only) with Disney characters, which has always been a fun experience for us and a must if you've never done it before. I highly recommend making a reservation well in advance of your trip if you plan to dine at Ravello.

I'm happy to report that most of the restaurants at Four Seasons Resort were able to accommodate gluten-free diets. While Lickety Split only had 1 gluten-free item when we visited, Ravello, The Lobby Bar and in-room dining offered much more.

The staff at all of the restaurants we dined with were great, though we found The Lobby Bar, in-room dining and PB&G had notably fabulous servers and staff. We did find that The Lobby Bar was a little bit of a wait for food in the evening and that Lickety Split staff seemed to be a bit more rushed and less talkative than the rest, but overall everything was great.

We'd like to say a special "thank you" to our in-room dining gentleman who was incredibly thoughtful and lovely when he brought up our meal! Service like his made our time at Four Seasons extra amazing.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando Lickety Split

Lickety Split was a cafe-style dining spot that offered quick bites (hot and cold), coffee and delicious gelato. We really enjoyed everything we got there during our stay, but we have to say that the coffee and gelato were the stand-out items for us. Don't forget to check out their Kyoto coffee tower when you pop in. If you're a coffee lover (third-wave especially) that is really fun to see!

They had limited indoor seating and a really nice outdoor seating area.

The outdoor seating area at Lickety Split was a hit with our family. Even though it was very warm (low 90s) and humid the first day of our stay, the shade and breeze made it a very pleasant experience.

Sip some coffee and look out over this view? Yes, please!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando The Lobby Bar

The Lobby Bar offered an impressive alcohol menu (wine, cocktails, etc.), appetizers and quick bites. We were on the hunt for a grilled cheese the night we were there (our SPD youngest didn't eat anything at the restaurant we dined at that night) and concierge recommended The Lobby Bar. While the wait was about 20 minutes, the grilled cheese was a total hit with our son--which is quite an accomplishment! We took a peak at the continental breakfast they offered in the morning and it looked great, too. They were also more than willing to special make gluten-free dishes for me, which I found so nice! Definitely consider stopping in during your stay, they are kind, accommodating and the overall tone is laid back, yet sophisticated.

There was seating at the bar, tables, outside and more relaxed plush seating in one corner of the interior.

Atmosphere
I was lucky to catch The Lobby Bar before they began service and got some shots of the interior. At night the atmosphere was mellow and inviting, definitely some place we'd love to visit again while the kids are being babysat (adult conversation, doesn't that sound amazing?).

Family-Friendly Factor
Despite being a lobby bar, they were actually quite family-friendly in terms of menus as they had a separate kids menu. I think the seating was probably best suited for slightly older kids in general (our youngest was 7 and did fine), but it may be difficult for families with younger kids who tend to jet off if not at a very structured place setting. The staff was very kind and extremely helpful, making them family-friendly overall.

The outdoor seating for The Lobby Bar was very nice and definitely intimate enough that those who wanted to have a private moment or hang out in a small group could do so.

Four Seasons Orlando PB&G

The first thing our server (who was incredible and I wish I could remember her name!) asked us was what we thought PB&G stood for. Of course we answered, "Peanut butter and ... something?" But to our surprise it actually stood for Poolside Bar & Grille! As its name suggested, it was located poolside (across a small bridge from Oasis adult-pool and near the Splash Zone and Lazy River) and served southern inspired fresh Florida cuisine. As northerners we were interested to experience Florida cuisine and I'm happy to say that we were not disappointed!

Atmosphere
The atmosphere was relaxed and easy. There was a bar with some seating in addition to seating near flatscreens playing sports. We were sat in another area that reminded us of an over-sized, covered deck. It was a really nice, relaxed lunch.

Family-Friendly Factor
We'd like to highlight just how family-friendly PB&G was during our dining experience. Our server was so friendly and accommodating (wish we could remember her name!), the kids menu was great and the second we were seated the boys were given a set of stickers so that they could create different sports scenes on a special background. This sticker set kept them occupied their entire meal. Over the years we have been to a handful of restaurants in different states that have gone above and beyond the basic coloring-book style menus to offer things for families that engage kids and make the entire dining experience better for the whole family . PB&G has now been added to that mental list!

We'd also like to note how accommodating PB&G was in terms of our youngest's food sensory issues--take note sensory moms and dads! As we've mentioned many times before, our youngest has moderately severe SPD that really affects his eating. It can be very hard to feed him when we travel at times and this particular week he really struggled with finding things he could/would eat. When we got to PB&G he could not force himself to eat anything on the adult or kids menu, but simply wanted cherries. Our server was so kind and immediately offered to get him some. He ate them and had seconds. It's moments like these that really stand out to us as a family with unique needs. Definitely dine here!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Amenities - Pools, Recreation, Kids Programs, etc.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando had something for just about everyone in our opinions, having created a family-friendly environment that catered to the Disney-loving families that choose to stay with them. Not to say non-families wouldn't enjoy staying with them, they absolutely would, but our focus is of course on families.

In our eyes, the mark of an exceptional resort is one that makes you feel completely comfortable while simultaneously offering so many things to do and see that you feel compelled to spend more of your time at your resort than elsewhere. From our experience, Four Seasons Resort Orlando was exactly that.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando offered relaxation for parents, fun for kids and joint opportunities for the entire family to enjoy their time together.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando Amenity Family Favorites
Some of our favorite amenities were The Hideout, Lazy River and the water slides. We were lucky to have beautiful weather during the two days we were at the resort, despite the rain and storms earlier that week. As a result, we got to take advantage of many of the outdoor amenities, which were a big hit with our family!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando Adults-Only Pool

While we did not personally experience the Oasis pool, it did seem that everyone there was quite enjoying the tranquility. And should you visit with little ADHDers and decide to let them have fun in Kids For All Seasons then you may want to give it a try!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide Adult Pool

Four Seasons Resort Orlando Lazy River

I really believe that our kids would have spent 50% of their time on the Lazy River and 50% of their time in the Hideout if we let them! The Lazy River was relaxing, well-shaded and had just enough waterfalls and sprinklers to keep the kids entertained. I can't tell you how many times we went around it, but we definitely put some mileage on those tubes!

Just looking at this makes me want to dive into the screen!

For those that way to be "lazy" and not on the river, there were these fabulous covered pods next to the Lazy River.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide lazy river
There were also lounge chairs facing the Lazy River and the staff were quick to adjust umbrellas for shade (my dermatologist would be so happy), grab ice water, towels and poolside menus.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide lazy river
Beware the perils (not really) of the Four Seasons Resort Lazy River! The boys loved the waterfall.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando Splash Zone

We didn't spend much time in the Splash Zone because our guys were busy on the Lazy River and water slides, but this area was very nice and perfect for young families or those that simply wanted to dip their feet in.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide splash zone
This was such a family-friendly area! There was an area to the left with complimentary sunscreen (there was another booth with sunscreen near the Lazy River) as well as bathrooms and The Mansion off of which the water slides were attached. There was plenty of seating in this area when we were there.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Park-View Suite Family Travel Guide splash zone

Four Seasons Resort Orlando Water Volleyball, Basketball & Lounging

There was a nice little pool you could get to on-foot or through the Lazy River where you could play water volleyball, water basketball or simply lay out. We didn't have too much time to spend in this area, especially since it was adjacent to The Hideout (for which our boys made a beeline), but it was a really nice area and one I could see families with tweens and teens spending a lot of time.

These hanging pods kept calling to me and while I didn't have time to spend dangling in one this trip, I certainly will on the next!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando The Mansion Water Slides

There were 2 water slides attached to The Mansion--one covered and one open--that we really enjoyed using! The blue, which was covered, was fast-paced and fun while the yellow (an open slide) was a bit more mild, but still a good time. There was a staff member at the top to ensure nobody zoomed into anyone else and the lanes of water at the end were very shallow, so even if you had a little ADHDer who wasn't an entirely confident swimmer they should still be fine with supervision.

There were a number of people going down the slides when we were there so I didn't take any shots close up, but you can see them to the right of The Mansion winding their way down. Very fun and definitely a must for thrill-seeking families!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando The Hideout

The Hideout, one of our boys' favorite spots at Four Seasons Resort Orlando, offered a broad range of table games, movies, video games, etc. If you have little gamers this is sure to excite them!

There were staff there at all times ready and willing to assist with game selection, getting consoles up and running and general supervision. There was a restroom in The Hideout as well--always good to note for families.

Just a couple of young travelers enjoying games of pinball! This room was actually nice and dim for optimum gaming, but I used my flash to grab some shots.

The variety of consoles and games was very impressive! Gaming consoles varied from retro (our kids were so thrilled) to the latest models.

For parents that might spend time here, we can personally attest to the fact that we found those chairs very comfortable!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando Spa

There was a full-service spa at Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort. While I sadly did not have time to stop in for a massage (something I need to rectify next time), it looks beautiful. There were guests in there each time I passed so I did not take any pics, but I can tell you firsthand that it looked amazing.

I am a huge spa-lover and they seemed to offer some really nice services based on what I read on the site. I wish we could have taken advantage of the Shining Knight service they offered for boys grooming as well. We love that they offer more than princess primping. Next time I think our entire family needs to have a spa day--treatments for two and Shining Knight services for the boys! Their facials sound amazing, too.

The spa was just through these doors and to the right near the locker rooms, which had lockers, steam rooms, showers, etc.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort Disney Integration - How does it all work?

One of the things we wanted to better understand and experience when visiting was how Four Seasons Resort integrated with the existing Walt Disney World Resort.

Essentially, Four Seasons Resort Orlando is a Four Seasons hotel located on Disney property. As a result, they do not have all of the specific Disney resort benefits other Walt Disney World Resort hotels offer such as magic hours and monorail service. Keep in mind, if you stay at a Disney resort that isn't near the Magic Kingdom/Epcot area (such as Animal Kingdom Lodge) you may not have monorail service either anyway. However, they do offer a number of other Disney-related services that ensure that your Disney experience is seamless and stress-free.

Here's a break down...

Disney Resort Services Not Offered:
  • No monorail service
  • No magic hours
  • No magic bands used in the resort
Disney Resort Services Offered:
  • Complimentary bus transportation (we asked about this when we were there and were told we had to schedule a car, but it may have simply been that the person we asked at valet didn't know)
  • Merchandise delivery from parks to the resort (super handy if you purchase larger items or simply don't want to carry things)
  • Disney Planning Center to help coordinate your Disney experience
  • Character Breakfast (as mentioned above at Ravello)
  • Disney In-Room Celebrations
As you can see, despite the fact Four Seasons Resort Orlando is not technically a Disney hotel, they still offer the majority of the same benefits as the Disney hotels. We can tell you firsthand as a family that has stayed multiple times at deluxe Disney hotels that it's worth (in our opinions) sacrificing the few services you can't use for those you can in addition to everything Four Seasons has to offer!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Disney World Resort Late Checkout

If you're not from the Orlando area and happen to have a late flight like we did during our last trip make sure you take advantage of Four Seasons' late flight opportunities! You can choose to either leave your tab open or close it at checkout and pay with a card for each transaction after, making use of all the amenities until you depart. We ate, we swam and we had the best time we've ever had waiting for a late flight while staying in a resort to date.

This was a phenomenal perk and one I can see many of our readers making good use of, especially families that would otherwise be left looking for something to fill their time or hanging out at the airport for hours with little ADHDers.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Disney World Resort Final Thoughts - First Experience Fall 2015

We were extremely impressed and completely in love with Four Seasons Resort Orlando after our visit. Given the fact they had only been open just over a year when we arrived you wouldn't have known it given the exceptionally smooth experience we had. Everything was first-class from beginning to end and we have done nothing but rave about it since getting back.

We were impressed with our suite, the view, the staff, the amenities and all of our dining experiences. We found the resort to be incredibly family-friendly with programs, products, menus, etc. dedicated specifically to kids. The majority of staff we encountered were very kid-friendly and accommodating, going so far as to remember our names after meeting us 1 time, which made our experience feel very personal and comfortable. We truly appreciated the calm, serene atmosphere created by Four Seasons, which really helped the ADHDers in our family feel less internally chaotic while traveling. Having plenty of calm moments and opportunities to relax can make a huge difference for an ADHD family and we truly appreciated this resort for that reason.

After a week of using our magic bands for everything from our rooms to paying for things it took us a moment to adjust, but it really made little difference after the initial transition.

We did not use the complimentary transportation to the parks and when we asked valet about it were told we could schedule a car (we had a rental with us so there was no need to schedule a car), but assuming the person we spoke with at valet simply didn't know, it's a great perk to staying on Disney property. We find the complimentary transportation in general to be very helpful when you have a full day at the parks (dragging yourself to a shuttle can be much less painful than driving back) or plan to dine at Disney Springs and possibly have a drink with dinner.

We did not participate in the complimentary Kids For All Seasons kids camp simply due to the limited time we had, but would absolutely do it during our next trip. You can read more about it and explore the fun schedules they provide on their site.

Overall, we highly recommend Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Disney World Resort and feel it is a very family-friendly, ADHD-friendly resort. While we normally stay at a deluxe Disney hotel during our trips, we have to say we have not stayed at one to date that can compete with all that Four Seasons Resort has to offer.

We look forward to our next stay with Four Seasons (we're considering a stay over the holidays) and hope that our guide helps anyone interested in potentially staying better understand what to expect from this first-class resort.

We'll be sharing lots more from our recent trip as we continue to update and expand our Disney guide, so stay tuned!

Note: While media rates were extended to our family for our stay, we paid all other expenses including dining, travel, shopping, etc. All opinions above are our own based on our experiences. We have not guaranteed a positive review and have been as objective as possible during our stay and in writing our review.
