Unboxing: Try the World Spain Edition

We had the opportunity to give the recent Try the World box a go and the boys tried a number of delicious foods from Spain! Give their video a watch and see what they thought of everything in the box.

The boys really enjoy Try the World because it mixes two of their favorite things–good food and world travel! This isn’t the first box we’ve checked out and in the past they’ve had a really fun time going through the boxes and sampling their goodies. We’ve even incorporated some into homeschool lessons in the past!

Each box is carefully curated by chefs to provide recipients with a taste of a different country with each delivery. We find most boxes have around 7 or so products, but I don’t believe a specific number of products is mentioned on the site. From our experience, boxes usually include a number of savory products and a couple sweet products. While most foods are ready-to-eat, some require cooking, which can be a fun project to do with kids!

We also love that each box includes a cultural guide that talks a bit about the country the box was inspired by, a key for the products included and recipes!

The Spain box included:

  • Canned mussels
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Paprika
  • Tumaca Sauce
  • Floral Jam
  • Citrus Crumb Cake
  • Turron

Seamus’s favorites were:

  • Tumaca Sauce
  • Turron
  • Floral Jam
  • Citrus Crumb Cakes
  • Mussels

Liam’s favorites were:

  • Turron
  • Floral Jam

As we’ve mentioned in the past, Liam has a lot of food sensory issues, so we find that traveling and exploring other cultures’ foods is a really great way for him to work on expanding his palette. Try the World has been a wonderful way for him to continue his exploration while we’re at home and as you’ll see in the video, he even tried the mussels! He’s worked so hard and even a year ago never could have managed it, so we’re very proud of him–he did it all on his own!

We hope you enjoy our video and if you’re interested in giving Try the World a go, you can subscribe through their site at TrytheWorld.com.

Same here! I really feel like they have to go hand-in-hand … or at least that's how I justify it to myself 😉
