Unboxing Japanese Candy & Snacks! – August Marimo Marshmallow Candy Club Box

Marimo Marshmallow, an online shop that specializes in Japanese candy, stationary, toys & more, was kind enough to send the boys their August Candy Club Box! Marimo’s Candy Club is a monthly subscription that includes 8-10 candies/snacks and guarantees at least two DIY kits. That is hands-down one of the best deal we’ve heard of to date in terms of Japanese candy subscriptions. It can be tough to find ones that guarantee one, let along multiple DIY kits in our experience.

As you can see in the video above, the boys were absolutely thrilled with the goodies their box came with (who can resist gummy poo?) and were super excited to see all the DIY kits they received! They even did a few in the video above. 🙂

The Marimo Candy Club subscription costs $29.99/month, which is on-par with what we’ve seen from comparable Japanese candy subscriptions. You can read more about Marimo’s Candy Club on their site!

Our August Marimo Candy Club Box Came with:

  • Itazura Neruneru
  • Nyoki Nyoki Kororon DIY Kit
  • Washing Machine DIY Candy Kit 2
  • Unchikun Gunny (10 pack)
  • Pizza DIY Candy Kit
  • Hokkaido Butter Soy Sauce Potato Chips
  • Takoyaki Umaibo Yaokin (3 pack)
  • Saya Endo Calbee

As you can see, this box contained a great mix of sweet and savory goodies and included quite a few DIY kits! In fact, way more than just 2! These guys have grown up enjoying Japanese candy and snacks (having a half-Japanese mom), but the majority of things they received they’d never tried (or they’d tried other flavors of in the past), which was fantastic.

Overall, all four of us were super impressed with this box and would wholeheartedly recommend it to someone interested in trying Japanese snacks–especially DIY kits! So many of these goodies can be hard to get a hold of if you don’t live in an area with a super high Asian population here in the U.S., so we’re big fans of fantastic Japanese candy and snack subscriptions like this one.

Tip: If you homeschool like we do, you could even tie it into a unit on Japan for your kiddos!

What do you think of the goodies the boys got in their August Marimo Candy Club Box?

How fun! I love subscription boxes, but I’ve yet to give this one a try. What a fun way to introduce children to a different culture’s sweets and treats! I love that this one had those fun DIY kits, too.

This would be the perfect box for my Son. He loves to try things from different parts of the world and he loves candy. A monthly subscription box is a great gift that keep giving all year long.

Absolutely! We’ve given subscription boxes as gifts in the past and I think because you receive a variety of products it’s almost a guarantee the recipient will love it 😉

This box sounds like a really cool way to try something new for kids. When my son was homeschooling it would have been cool to use subscription boxes like this to help learn.

It is always great to be able to sample food from other countries. This one is great! I love Japanese candy because it is not overwhelmingly sweet.
